At the Peninsula Valdes the vast treeless landscapes are at odds with the wonderful array of marine wildlife, birds and native animals such as the guanacos, hares and armadillos.
In the spring, the landscapes changes, and the peninsula is host to whales, penguins, sea lions and elephant seals who gather all along the peninsula to breed in the sheltered waters of the gulf. In 1999 the peninsula was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
